Breathing Easy...

Rocco came off the ventilator last night, and is now breathing on his own with a little extra air from CPAP that holds his lungs open between breaths so they don't collapse down. He's getting some nutrition in an IV, but will probably start getting milk in his tummy in the next few days. He's doing remarkably well for being so small and so early.

While Kiki will probably leave the hospital over the weekend, Rocco will be there until at least the end of April. These next weeks, he will be busy growing stronger lungs and getting bigger and gaining weight.

Grandma and Papa Norch are headed down to Miami. They are driving, so they should get there sometime tonight and then will fly back on Sunday.
